These 10 cabochons are made of caramel-colored Aragonite from the town of Eichenberger in Kugeln, Austria. Aragonite is a calcium carbonate that is formed, among other places, in Gijsers and shallow seas. It looks a lot like Calcite, but the crystal structure is different and the mineral is also slightly harder. This makes it easier to process Aragonite into cabochon.
