I made this XL cabochon from an Emerald from Capoeirana, Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is an opaque emerald that does not transmit light. There is also remnants of the matrix between the dark green Emerald. These remains are black and brown in color and contrast beautifully with the dark green of the emerald itself.
