Opals in Lightningridge are the most sought after and the most precious Opals in the world! There is still a lot of searching, but due to the high prices it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain new material. They can have all kinds of patterns and any colors you can imagine. Cutting Australian Opal is a specialized job. One must maintain a thin layer of color while removing all Potsh and sand inclusions.

This set consists of 2 completely natural Australian Opals from Lightningridge. The specimen on the left in the photo is a crystal opal. The color is quite weak. Until the stone is held against a dark background. Then the green, blue and purple tones show throughout the stone.

The right stone is a dark opal with an apple green "pinfire" pattern that is bright and clearly visible over the entire stone. This is without a doubt the best stone from this set.
