Chalcedony- Hungary
Chalcedony is a varity of the mineral quartz. Unlike Quartz, Chalcedony forms boyodral crystals that are woven into a beautiful pattern. The color of the mineral is extremely variable, but usually a blue tint can be found. These Chalcedony specimens come from the wild mountains of Hungary in south/eastern Europe. The crystal layer in these specimens appears to be transparent, which creates a beautiful 3D effect. There is also maximum sparkle on the crystals, which is clearly visible when you shine a light on them. The color is variable, but these pieces are basically purple-blue.
